Photographing a photographer is a little meta, and that is part of the point. But look more closely and this also becomes an example of how I often photograph what isn’t there.

What is he photographing? Who is he? I don’t know. And that’s the point. The key to the image lies in what is unknown, withheld, and unresolved. The ambiguity is purposeful. I don’t think the image would work without it.
