One of the things I love about mountains is the amount of empty space they reveal. From an isolated peak it can feel obvious. Surrounded by mountains, it becomes even more apparent: one layer after another, receding until they seem to disappear into infinity.
This is a composition about space in the mountains. Emptiness.
Australian mountains also tend to collect the mist and haze associated with eucalyptus forests. You can see it gathering here in the valleys between the peaks.
